While Ellis makes a compelling point on the “dollars per vote,” he misunderstands its implication and forgets that as a third party, this is more than a short term play. New York hasn’t been able to rely on Republicans to promote fiscal responsibility for years, but has not had a viable alternative…until now. Larry’s bid is not to win this cycle, but to establish a foothold somewhere on the ivory tower the liberal establishment has built for itself. As New York continues to be the number one state to flee, and that tower begins to show its age, those footholds will become more important to the long term success of this very unstable state.
